Job Description




As a Security Officer - Fulfillment Center Patrol in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support shipping and warehouse operations with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to issues, and work as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, putting people first and acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouses, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor access points and vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow, assisting with controlled entry and exit in accordance with post orders.
  • Observe shipping and receiving operations and staging areas, reporting suspicious activity and/or policy violations to site management and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, alarms, and/or disturbances, and request additional assistance as needed.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and equipment such as CCTV, alarm panels, radios, and electronic reporting tools as assigned.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, documenting patrol observations and actions taken.
  • Perform routine checks of gates, doors, dock positions, and key control areas to help maintain compliance with site procedures.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees, contractors, and delivery personnel, supporting orderly operations at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
