As a Security Officer - Hospital Roving Driver in Mount Vernon, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will perform routine patrols and highly visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support staff and visitors with outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with site leadership. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, with regular vehicle patrols and timely reporting using site systems. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, lobbies, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
- Monitor access points and help manage authorized entry for employees, vendors, patients, and visitors, including directing individuals to appropriate check-in areas.
- Observe for unusual activity, unauthorized persons, and policy violations and help to deter incidents through a visible presence and timely reporting.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing clear directions and coordinating notifications per post orders.
- Complete security-related reports for incidents, patrol activity, hazards, and policy concerns, maintaining accurate documentation and timely communication.
- Assist with de-escalation of conflicts and support staff with disruptive behavior situations, using approved communication techniques and requesting additional resources as needed.
- Support privacy and confidentiality expectations in a healthcare location by limiting discussion of sensitive information and directing inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Operate and/or monitor security-related systems and equipment as assigned, such as radios, phones, access control systems, and cameras, and report malfunctions.
- Work collaboratively with site personnel and/or emergency responders during alarms, medical incidents, and other urgent events, following site procedures and post orders.
Minimum Requirements: - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
