Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with clear communication and professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, checking authorization lists as directed, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations.
  • Screen vehicles, packages, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures, while maintaining chain of custody and reporting irregularities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, alarms, suspicious activity, and/or fire-related notifications.
  • Observe and report security-related conditions such as unsecured doors, malfunctioning lighting, broken fencing, and/or loitering, and notify site contacts as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence while supporting orderly operations in retail, administrative, and/or warehouse areas as assigned.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrols, incidents, and policy violations, using required systems and formats.
  • Operate and monitor security-related equipment such as radios, CCTV, access control systems, and alarm panels as assigned.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders when requested, providing accurate information, scene direction, and documentation support.
  • Follow all weapons handling, storage, qualification, and use-of-force guidelines as required for the post, and report any equipment issues promptly.
  • Participate in briefings, shift change updates, and post order reviews, and follow escalation protocols for urgent matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
