We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and evolve Journey
Agents within Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). Journey Agents power AI-assisted journey orchestration that enables brands to deliver personalized, real-time customer experiences across channels.

This is a backend-leaning full-stack role focused on building agent execution,
orchestration, and observability capabilities, while also contributing to user-
facing experiences that make agent behavior understandable, explainable, and
trustworthy. You'll collaborate closely with AI teams, product managers, and
other AJO engineering teams to bring agent concepts into production-ready
systems.

Journey Agents are central to Adobe's vision for intelligent, AI-driven customer
journeys. In this role, you'll help shape how agents collaborate, reason, and act
- while ensuring these systems are reliable, observable, and usable in
production. Your work will directly influence how customers build and trust AI-assisted journeys at scale, bridging the gap between emerging agent capabilities and enterprise-grade delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Build backend services that power Journey Agent orchestration, analysisand execution.

  • Implement AI agent workflows, including agent-to-agent coordination tool invocation, MCP server interactions, and gRPC / REST / GraphQL APIs.

  • Develop full-stack features, including React-based UIs that expose agentobservations, recommendations, and diagnostics.

  • Ensure production readiness through testing, monitoring, andperformance awareness.

  • Contribute to design and code reviews to continuously improve thequality, reliability, and maintainability of agent systems.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of experience building and operating production software systems.

  • Strong backend development skills in Java/Scala, Node.js, or Python,with solid full-stack experience using React and modernJavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Experience designing and implementing gRPC, REST, and GraphQL APIs,and integrating services across complex service ecosystems.

  • Familiarity with AI agent systems, including orchestrated agentworkflows, agent-to-agent (A2A) communication, tool-calling patterns, and MCP protocol-based architectures.

  • Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, containerizedenvironments (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $139,000 -- $257,550 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $177,900 - $257,550

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
