POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer is a critical role for the organization, as our customer base has strict quality requirements. The incumbent reports directly to Quality Manager. and will have a breadth of responsibilities with exposure to multiple disciplines. This position requires excellent communication skills, as well as technical acumen, time management or organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.

  • Interfaces with customers, sales, engineering and manufacturing to understand and support customer specific quality requirements
  • Serves as the primary quality interface for new product development and new product launch
  • Perform 1st article inspections
  • Liaison with customer, on prepared product and documents for source inspection
  • Quality review of x-ray parts
  • Develop test standards
  • Perform and document results of life testing
  • Review engineering change orders to ensure compliance with quality requirements
  • Perform and document all required self-release activities
  • Perform final pre-cap inspections
  • Maintain all quality requirements for military standards
  • Participate on material review board as necessary
  • Prepare and provide reports as necessary
  • Maintain quality documentation
  • Utilize FBS tools to drive quality improvements
  • Internal and External Corrective Actions, using 8D process.
  • Internal Reject trend analysis and Improvement Opportunity Follow-Through

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS Degree in Engineering or technical AS Degree w/relevant experience-electrical disciplines preferred
  • Must be familiar with ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality System requirements
  • Experience working in quality role in manufacturing environment
  • Electronics, Electrical or Electromechanical manufacturing experience is desired
  • Experience w/problem solving tools/methodology

Expected Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000

Compensation is based on a variety of factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, qualifications, and business considerations.
