Salary: $20-24/hour Responsibilities:

  • The Agronomy Office Assistant supports daily operations at a retail agronomy facility by providing high-quality customer service and administrative support. This role involves direct communication with customers and employees, accurate invoicing and inventory management, reporting, planning, and maintaining organized records to ensure efficient facility operations.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, sales staff, operations employees, and home office personnel.
  • Perform accurate and timely billing for customer purchases of products and services using published pricing and approved procedures.
  • Utilize Agvance software to create blend tickets, product bookings, delivery tickets, and other documentation required for daily operations.
  • Assist sales staff with planning activities using the Agvance planning module.
  • Maintain organized and accurate customer accounts and information for efficient retrieval and reporting.
  • Generate sales, marketing, and management reports as requested.
  • Become familiar with all agronomy department programs and procedures.
  • Order agronomy products as needed, including seed, crop nutrients, and crop protection products.
  • Accurately record, track, and report inventory in accordance with agronomy management requirements.
  • Order and maintain office supplies necessary to conduct business professionally and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and employees.
  • Occasionally run local errands or provide transportation assistance as requested.
  • Cross-train and provide backup support for other administrative positions when needed.
  • Pick up or deliver local products or materials as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years of related office experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in professional communication, typing, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • Strong business knowledge with demonstrated skills in collaboration, communication, customer service, decision-making, and continuous skill development.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work with billing, planning, and blending software systems and to create spreadsheets for business functions.
  • While performing duties pertaining to this job, individual may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Must be willing to work additional hours beyond the normal work week at various times throughout the year. These include, but are not limited to, seasons of heavy customer demand and month end procedures.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment can be loud on occasion.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
