As a key player in our supply chain team, you'll lead all warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction while working closely with procurement, customer service, and production planning. You'll lead the team driving everything from labor scheduling and inventory rotation to order management and budget control, driving performance and compliance at every level. In addition, you'll provide strategic direction to third-party distribution centers, ensuring they deliver against KPIs and maintain seamless operations. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead Strategic Operations - Take charge of all distribution and warehouse activities, overseeing a management team driving operations of the Distribution Center to meet business needs and exceed expectations.

  • Drive Efficiency & Innovation - Develop and implement policies and procedures that streamline processes across the DC, plants, and third-party warehouses. Identify opportunities to improve current methods and leverage WMS tools to boost productivity.

  • Team Leadership & Workforce Management - Leads DC management team, schedule labor to maximize productivity, and adapt to volume fluctuations. Conduct performance reviews, foster a safe and positive work environment, and ensure your team thrives.

  • Inventory & Quality Control - Maintain accurate stock levels and proper inventory rotation to minimize out-of-code products. Coordinate with production schedulers to prevent stock outages and ensure smooth transfers. Uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality, exceeding audit requirements.

  • Cost Control & Space Optimization - Collaborate with plants and third-party warehouses to control costs and optimize warehouse space. Direct all loading, unloading, and storage activities to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Compliance & Safety - Ensure adherence to government regulations, occupational safety standards, and USDA requirements. Maintain a clean, safe facility with proper pest control and sanitation practices.

  • Performance & KPIs - Implement KPIs, manage productivity standards, and monitor operational procedures to meet business goals. Work cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, Transportation, and technical teams to achieve top-tier service levels.

  • Budget & Reporting - Develop and manage budgets for the facility, providing accurate reporting and insights to support business decisions.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years' experience in Distribution Center management; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required

  • 2+ years' experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.

  • Experience working with dedicated transportation fleets for proper service to external and internal customers.

  • Knowledge of meat industry, preferred.

  • Solid understanding of OSHA, USDA and Food Safety regulations.

  • Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment, interpret and communicate results.

  • Experience with SAP, WMS computer systems, and Microsoft Office.

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.

  • Strong interpersonal, technical and presentation skills required.

  • Energized by the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Distribution Center.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.

  • The DC environment will include extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical equipment such as forklifts/hi-lifts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the loading areas.

  • Frequently required to move and/or lift 50 pounds and occasionally required to move and/or lift more than 100 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
