The Machine Operator I understands the product flow process and procedures, and ensures consistent, efficient, and effective workflow through the department. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Setup andoperatepackagingandproduction equipment byfollowing anddocumenting procedures. Understand,demonstrateand enforce safe work practices at all times; must stay focused onmaintaininga safe work environment at all times Follow all food safety required procedures. Check quality characteristics while operating equipment. Operate packaging lines, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, basic quality control, and waste control. Follow all necessary GMPs and ensure workers on that line are following GMPs. Education and Experience Profile High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Twoyears(2) related experienceoperating packaging machinesin a productionenvironment Equivalent combination of education and experience Equivalent combination of education and experience Forklift experience preferred Effective verbal and written communication skills Required Skills Ability to communicate effectively, read,comprehendbasic instructions, shortcorrespondenceand memos Mustpossessorganizational and teamwork skills Ability to add, subtract, and multiply Ability to repetitivelylift upto 50 pounds Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts High attention to detail Self-motivated Work Environment Exposure to hot and cold climate - update tovery specificto each position While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
