Automation Engineer (QA Automation - Python, SQL, Databricks) Location: Princeton, NJ (Preferred) - Open to Remote USBased Candidates Contract: 12 Months + Possible Extension Work Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite if local) or Fully Remote (US) Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Automation Engineer to take full ownership of QA within our Commercial Banking Technology team. This is a handson, highimpact role where you will serve as the sole QA resource, responsible for designing automation frameworks, building tests, and ensuring quality across Databricks-based data pipelines and cloud environments. This role supports the SonarQube Rollout & Reporting initiative and requires someone who can work independently, set QA standards from scratch, and collaborate closely with developers and leadership. Why Join Us? * Ownership of the entire QA function * Highly collaborative environment * Exposure to modern cloud and data engineering technologies * Flexible work location (onsite preferred, but remote OK) * Opportunity to define standards and influence technical direction Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for Databricks pipelines and Python-based workflows * Create test cases for new stories and existing functionality * Validate data processing, transformations, and pipeline reliability * Ensure thorough test coverage and high-quality releases * Build and maintain automation frameworks using Python and SQL * Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Harness experience is a plus) * Support SonarQube rollout and automated reporting initiatives * Operate as the sole QA engineer on the team * Set up QA best practices, standards, and processes * Produce clear, actionable QA documentation and reporting * Collaborate with 2 developers and the hiring manager * Drive quality strategy and identify areas for process improvements Required Skills (MustHaves) * 10+ years of QA automation experience * Advanced Python programming experience * Strong SQL (queries, validations, transformations) * Handson experience with Databricks workflows (pipelines, notebooks, jobs) * Proven experience testing endtoend data pipelines * Ability to work independently as a one-person QA team * Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills * Comfortable working hybrid or remote NicetoHaves * Experience with Harness (CI/CD) * Experience with SonarQube * Azure exposure (Databricks is hosted on Azure) * Experience setting up QA standards/frameworks from scratch Additional Details * 12month contractor tenure policy applies (with 90day break required after) * Day 1 includes system setup, project overview, documentation review * Two (2) one-hour interviews * Includes Q&A + a practical coding assessment (Python/SQL) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Princeton, NJ.
