Job Details:

Purpose

The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing (UTSON) Training Center Coordinator (TCC) manages the day-to-day operations of an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, which includes scheduling classes, managing instructor certifications and records, ensuring equipment and supplies are available, and acting as a point of contact for the AHA and instructors. They are responsible for all administrative tasks related to the training center to maintain compliance with AHA guidelines and ensure the smooth delivery of Heartsaver and BLS courses at UTSON.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all training center operations comply with AHA guidelines and UTSON Policy
  • Point of contact for hiring and managing all UTSON AHA Instructors.
  • Schedule and coordinate all levels of Heartsaver and BLS classes with BLS Instructors and staff.
  • Manage instructor database, ensuring all certifications are current and updated. Organize instructor courses and renewals. Keep training records accurate and up-to-date for TC and Instructors.
  • Stay current on all program updates from the AHA and disseminate them to instructors.
  • Update and reconcile payments online and all budgetary needs for the program.
  • Administrative duties include; ordering supplies, tracking equipment, maintain training equipment and supplies. Distribute equipment and materials to instructors.
  • Support the development of course materials and program evaluations.
  • Customer Service POC and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Current TCC or AHA BLS Instructor Certification with at least two years' experience as an AHA partner.
  • Three (3) yrs. experience in Public Health or closely related field.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with the public and university staff.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer equipment and office software MS Word/Excel/Teams/PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate ability to think critically, troubleshoot and take action to resolve issues.
  • Commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and mission-driven work.
Salary Range

$30.00 per hour

Work Shift and Working Conditions
  • 18 hours worked across 3 days per week; schedule to be arranged with supervisor

  • Some weekends may be required to meet deadlines and accuracy requirements.

  • Substantial time is spent working on a computer.

  • This is semi-sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, caring, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
