Avaya is seeking an experienced SLED (State, Local, and Education) Contract Manager. This is an opportunity to join a team of enthusiastic contracting professionals supporting a dynamic
public sector and commercial contracting environment!The role of SLED Contract Manager is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's engagements
with SLED entities are managed efficiently and effectively, fostering strong relationships andensuring compliance at all levels. This position requires a thorough understanding of contractmanagement, contract negotiation, contract reporting, price file maintenance, compliance, andclient relations within these specific domains. The role requires agile thinking, a clear and
effective communication style, strong business skills and customer-service acumen. Our teamembraces innovation, learning, and technology to continuously add value to our business and
improve our support. Although primarily supporting SLED contracts, the role holder will also be expected to support federal and commercial customer activities as needed. The selected candidate will directly report to Avaya's Director of Contracts in Global Contract Solutions, and is part of Avaya's Legal, Compliance and Security organization.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Reporting: Manages the compilation of monthly or quarterly direct and business partnercontract sales reporting for Avaya's SLED contract vehicles. Includes review of internalSLED booking reports and invoice reports. Maintains lines of communication with theinternal sales team and Avaya's business partners to validate contract sales reporting.
- Responsible for payment of monthly and quarterly SLED contract administration feesand tracking of contract administration fees due from business partners and theircorresponding payment dates.
- Manages contract price catalog updates for Avaya's SLED contracts.
- Partners with the SLED Channel team for on and off ramping of partners. Maintainsbusiness partner database, which tracks contract authorizations. Provides proposalsupport to SLED capture team.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with SLED contracting and procurementpersonnel, Avaya's business partners, end customers and internal stakeholders.
- Acts asAvaya's primary point of contact with the same, using extensive contract knowledge,knowledge of legal requirements for compliance, awareness of company financialpolicies and strategies, and customer requirements
- Compliance: Ensures Avaya's compliance with relevant laws and regulations, includingstate and local guidelines and agency policies.
- Documentation: Manages and organizes contract documentation, ensuring all recordsare accurate and current.
- Supports sales teams through the sales cycle including providing input to RFP RFQresponses, performing risk assessments, providing recommendations and managingcontract negotiations with customers and partners, escalating for support when needed.
- Reviews non-standard contractual and other documentation that bind the company.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and seeks approvals to deviate whereappropriate.
- Participates in executive briefings and deal reviews.
- Risk Management: Identifies and assesses commercial and legal risk for businessstakeholders, providing recommendations and risk mitigation alternatives. Reachesagreement with customers on contractual issues contained in less complex documents.
- Acts as organizational interface for updates, improvements, and/or maintenance onexisting contract generation and storage tools.
- Training: Provides SLED contract-related training and support to the internal sales teamand Avaya business partners. Prepares job aids related to Avaya's reporting tools andprocesses.
- Responsible for maintaining Avaya and agency contract vehicle websites to incorporatechanges and updates to each contract.
Requirements
- Three to six years of recent experience with multiple contract types including but notlimited to Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts (IDIQs), GSA MAS Schedulecontracts, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), national cooperative contracts, StateTerm Contracts (STCs), prime contracts, subcontracts, and task orders
- Familiarity with the procurement processes, contract negotiation, contract pricing,proposal/capture support and requirements of specific state or local agencies
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
- Ability to identify contract risks and mitigations and identify and articulate improvementopportunities based on understanding of contract lifecycle management, problematicprovisions, market trends, and risk tolerances; secure with data and ambiguity;demonstrated ability to balance attention to detail and a focus on big picture events andoverall strategy
- Capability to manage projects and processes, applying expertise to make concretedecisions that impact the organization
- Proficiency in Google tools and Microsoft Excel
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, reading comprehension, and critical thinkingskills with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility andauthority; ability to support an environment driven by customer service, teamwork andorganizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Capable of providing clear, concise communications
- Detailed knowledge of pricing and contract finance
- Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
