Position Location:

This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site.

Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.

Major Accountabilities / Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage team spread over Americas (US, South America, Canada).

  • Responsible for developing the category network, and the individual performance management process for all operational/functional reports. Responsible for the individual performance management process for all operational/functional reports.

  • In collaboration with ESO SMO LT, accountable for consolidating supplier, market, category and internal business data and information to inform the Category Strategy.

  • Support/Lead Make vs Buy solution for new and existing products in the portfolio

  • Understand and implement sub-category strategies of API, Excipient and Packaging Materials at CMOs/BD Partners

  • Ensure strong alignment with ESO teams within the region and those outside Americas supporting local market.

  • Close collaboration with the BD&L Teams in the region through contract review and early involvement to ensure Tech Ops Procurement terms are harmonized early in the process.

  • Accountable for ensuring delivery against the Procurement Balanced Scorecard measures for the category.

  • Ability to execute and deliver on a category objective (relevant portion) in the range $ 400M USD.

  • Provide leadership for teams to proactively seek opportunities to scope, initiate and lead projects and initiatives to increase cost efficiency in conjunction with the functional area stakeholders across the portfolio to add value and reduce costs in the category.

  • Determine/create innovative solutions to deliver cost efficiencies to create enhanced value for Sandoz in terms of bottom-line savings, productivity, demand reduction and quality improvements.

  • Ensure cross-functional idea generation workshops/meetings are held regularly to create savings opportunities, define their implementation and follow it up (including sessions with suppliers).

  • Develop relationships with suppliers (in partnership with SRM and ESO Regional Head) to build trust as well as to resolve issues regarding performance, timelines, product quality, delivery and commitments.

  • Develop, negotiate and execute terms and conditions, contracts and agreements for the purchase of goods and services.

  • Work collaboratively to engage with internal business partners across multiple sites to coordinate purchasing efforts, understanding the leveraging situations, evaluating the total solution for pricing. Utilize best price and cost analysis techniques to assure the corporation is receiving the best overall value. Act as a change agent to drive best practices for the procurement department. Get involved early in the planning cycle.

  • Able to report savings monthly according to established company guidelines.

  • Able to coordinate and facilitate excellent communication with all levels of organization as well as suppliers. Organize regular updated communications and meetings with stakeholders to ensure transparency and up to date information on key initiatives is shared.

What you'll bring to the role:

Education & Experience (Required):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required at a minimum, master's degree preferred in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification.

  • Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years' experience in procurement (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years leading a procurement team (or external facing team) in Direct Spend category.

  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus. Strong understanding of global supply chains a plus.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Solid experience leading and developing teams within a matrix organization and across geographies and cultures.

  • Extensive experience in change and category management as well as senior level influencing.

Travel Requirements: [Up to 30%]

  • Ability to work independently from a home office when necessary for business purposes.

  • Willingness to travel over a broad geography required

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $160,300 - $297,700 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
