The Emergency Department Resource Coordinator is responsible for managing all Emergency Department equipment, ensuring it remains functional, accessible, and compliant with regulations. They collaborate closely with Material Management Operations, Enterprise Procurement, nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and leadership to optimize inventory levels and streamline equipment management processes. This role develops and implements procedures to improve efficiency and maintain strong partnerships with HTM, Facilities, and other key departments. A proactive approach to equipment maintenance and problem resolution supports smooth operations and helps deliver high-quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school graduate or equivalent.

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five to seven years' experience as an Emergency Department Technician

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Support ordering supplies for the East Bed Command Center
2. Assist with ensuring all responsible areas operate within the approved budget for supply/office cost.
3. Responsible for entering capital request into Workday and ensuring project completion.
4. Educate and ensure proper access for EKG ordering and will train all new hires on the process.
5. Ensure all workers compensation cases are completed and processed per protocol.
6. Will function as a preceptor and mentor to ensure consistency and continuity of departmental patient care and flow expectations. This includes participating in new hire orientation to ED.
7. Assists with staff development and in promoting an organizational culture that fosters teamwork.
8. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, i,e; damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors.
9. Maintain clinical competencies for ED tech/unit secretary to cover departmental needs.
10. Back up coverage for Trauma Registrar by leading the daily EMS Huddle
11. Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required.
12. Maintains Accuceck inventory and dates in coordination with POCT
13. Submits and tracks work orders for broken equipment
14. Able to perform quality checks for yearly and expired Accucheck users
15. Utilizes Work Day for ordering and Hightouch for ordering office supplies
16. Supports management of dept recalls via the Enterprise Recall Electronic system
17. Maintains par levels for special order items
18. Assists management and physicians with obtaining quotes and or vendors for equipment.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Use computer keyboards, monitor, and mouse and be able to use hospital software programs.
2. Answer telephone and transcribe messages.
3. Will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting various equipment.
4. Microsoft office required.
5. Demonstrates the ability to interact with all ED staff using hospital core values.
6. Demonstrates excellent organization and communication skills.
