Sales Leader

Huntsman is seeking a Sales Leader supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Commercial Director, PU Americas.

Job Scope

The Sales Leader is responsible for the development and execution of the Construction Segment Commercial Strategy for North America. This role has full accountability for sales revenue generation, sales mix, contribution margin quality, and overall commercial performance across an approximately $850M annual Polyurethanes and Polyols portfolio, with an expectation to deliver 15%+ EBITDA profitability across the business cycle.

The role leads strategic account management, commercial excellence, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring alignment with the overall Americas Business Strategy and segment-specific marketing plans.

In summary, as the Sales Leader, you will:
  • Lead and manage the Strategic and Key Accounts organization, including:

    • Key & Strategic Account Managers (3 FTEs)

    • Senior Account Managers (2 FTEs)

    • Commercial Excellence Team (4 FTEs)

  • Own and actively manage performance versus budget for volume, revenue, pricing, contribution margin, commercial fixed costs, and cash performance (DSO and overdues).

  • Drive value expansion within Key and Strategic accounts while managing share of wallet in dynamic market conditions.

  • Develop and execute customer strategies that foster customer intimacy, strategic alignment, and long-term partnerships.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders within major accounts.

  • Create environments that enable the identification, scoping, and development of new projects with strategic customers.

  • Define the vision, objectives, and tools required to support sustainable commercial success through the Commercial Excellence function.

  • Lead the development, adoption, and deployment of best-practice sales, pricing, and commercial tools.

  • Leverage Sales and Pricing Excellence strategies to increase profitability and value creation.

  • Act as a collaborative partner across Supply Chain, Credit, Marketing, Technology, Innovation, Technical Service, and Operations as a member of the Americas Leadership Team.

  • Lead Voice of Customer initiatives to strengthen market intelligence and translate insights into data-driven decision-making.

  • Promote Huntsman's culture, ethics, and compliance standards in all commercial activities.

  • Partner with the Commercial Director, Consumer to build a high-performance culture focused on talent development, career growth, and succession planning.

  • Attract, develop, and retain world-class commercial talent to strengthen organizational capabilities.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

Education required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business.

Experience required

  • 10+ years of experience in Account Management leadership roles.

  • 5+ years of leadership team experience.

  • 5+ years of experience within the Chemical and/or Polyurethane industry.

  • Proven experience managing senior-level and C-suite customer relationships.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities.

  • Strategic thinking with a strong commercial and financial acumen.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across functions in a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, Master's, or PhD) in Business or Marketing.

  • Prior experience in Plastics, Polymers, or Specialty Chemicals.

  • Demonstrated experience leading commercial excellence or pricing transformation initiatives.

  • Experience managing large, complex portfolios within a global organization.

Working Environment
  • Office-based role with regular interaction across cross-functional and regional teams.

  • Periodic domestic travel to customer sites and internal meetings as required.
