Position Summary

**WORK STUDY PREFFERED, BUT WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION FROM ALL STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF WORK STUDY AWARD**

The UNM Bookstore is seeking a student employee to assist with daily cash room duties. The successful candidate must have reliable availability from 8am-12pm Monday-Friday during semesters and during intersessions and breaks. Previous cash handling experience required along with great attention to detail.

The selected candidate for this position will prepare cash receipts for bank deposit, prepare daily cash reports, and balance cash drawers-reconciling cash, check, credit card, university charge receipts daily-and investigate and resolve any out-of-balance problems. The candidate will maintain confidentiality of university and student records as well as perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

A successful background check will be required to process this hire.


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

  • Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedure.
  • Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Attention to detail
  • Account balancing skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
