About the Job

As a key member of the product team, this individual will be thoroughly experienced in interpreting customer and internal quality requirements and assuring the existing systems for such are compliant. Will participate in design reviews and review primary documents against customer requirements, and define quality, inspection and special gauge or tool requirements. Will develop quality plans and team with Business Unit Manager during proposal phase to address quality requirements. Also reviews manufacturing planning for incorporation of inspection and test points and determine special gauging requirements. Develops inspection planning for receiving, in-process, assembly, final and test inspection.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Review manufacturing planning for incorporation of inspection and test points and determine special gauging requirements for supplier management.
  2. Develop inspection planning for receiving.
  3. Design or modify acceptance gauging and approve new gauge design or modifications.
  4. Conduct hardware non-conformance investigations and follow-up.
  5. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Teams.
  6. Conduct internal audits of the Quality system.
  7. Participate or facilitate customer and AS9100 audits.
  8. Perform trend analysis on product issues and corrective actions attributed to suppliers.
  9. Review supplier purchase orders, ratings, and corrective actions.
  10. Manage the certified supplier program
  11. Manage raw material validation testing
  12. Acts as Quality Department Representative on Material Review Board (MRB).
  13. Assumes responsibility for supplier Quality issues on assigned product team(s).
  14. Assure flow-down of special requirements.
  15. Trained by Quality Manager and/or Quality Director.
  16. Write technical procedures and reports
  17. Coordinate and perform First Article Inspections per AS9102
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. B.S. Degree (or equivalent practical industry experience) in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline. Minimum 1 of experience in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control field and documented training as Internal or Lead Auditor.
  2. Requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Exposure to mechanical and/or automated inspection techniques.
  4. Thorough understanding of Quality systems and problem solving.
  5. Strong analytical skills using MS Excel and other MS Office programs.
  6. Ability to interpret customer requirements (drawings and standards) and implement them into the quality system or manufacturing process.
