Position Purpose
The Data Compliance Analyst supports the hospital system's internal audit and compliance program by applying data analytics, database management, and continuous auditing techniques to assess risk, monitor compliance, and strengthen governance. The role aligns with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and supports the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Elements across acute hospital and outpatient care settings.

Nature and Scope
The Data Compliance Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data from a variety of internal and external sources and organizational software applications to identify potentially high-risk coding, billing, and other business practices that may pose a compliance risk to Renown. The Analyst will also be responsible for developing and implementing continuous auditing and monitoring of specific criteria for risk-based trending and for reporting results to organization leadership and various committees via dashboards, scorecards, and reports. The Data Analyst must be able to collaborate with various departmental stakeholders throughout the organization to obtain access to various systems and documentation and to validate results. This position is authorized to have free and unrestricted access to organization functions, records, property, and personnel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of internal audit methodologies, compliance program structures, and risk assessment practices.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify control gaps and compliance risks through data.
- High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
- Ability to manage multiple analytical requests in a deadline-driven audit environment.
- Collaborative, independent, and objective approach consistent with internal audit professional standards.
Working Conditions
- Office or hybrid work environment.
- Regular interaction with audit leadership, compliance officers, and operational stakeholders.
- Occasional travel to acute hospital and outpatient sites may be required.

Education:
|
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Accounting, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field required.

Experience:
|
Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably supporting internal audit, compliance, or risk management in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with acute hospital and/or outpatient healthcare data or demonstrated exposure to healthcare operations.
- Strong experience in database management and data analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL and data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Experience managing or supporting comparative database analytics or benchmarking software.
- Ability to clearly communicate analytical findings to audit, compliance, and executive audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience working within an internal audit function aligned to IIA Standards.
- Familiarity with OIG Compliance Program Guidance and healthcare regulatory risk areas (e.g., billing and coding, quality reporting, HIPAA, Stark/AKS, EMTALA).
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).

Must obtain one of the following certifications within 12 months of hire: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC).
