JOB SUMMARY

The Global Director Quality reports to VP of NAM Operations and is a member of the operations management team. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, autonomy, and exceptional interpersonal skills. They are motivated by the challenges associated with implementing and improving the quality assurance model and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Their mission includes managing quality processes in a spirit of operational excellence, supervising staff, and reviewing performance indicators. They play a strategic role in the organization's image and performance to ensure customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Ensure process governance, risk and opportunity management with stakeholders
  • Responsible for the Global Quality Management System
  • Support the deployment of the ESCO Operating System (EOS) across Doble Engineering


  • Manage quality initiatives across multiple sites, including suppliers, QA, QC and others as assigned, ensuring team's successful delivery and achievement of business goals.


  • Works closely with staff from all departments to integrate quality aspects into the company's master processes at all stages of the value chain (including suppliers, internal processes, and after-sales support)
  • Define, design, and implement the progressive quality assurance policies, methodologies, systems, and tools necessary to support current and future products and services
  • Manage quality assurance activities for both current product operations and new product development (across the entire product and service lifecycle)
  • Manage the internal continuous improvement program toward Excellence
  • Integrate the best quality assurance and continuous improvement tools and methodologies into all processes to achieve the highest level of quality and reliability in line with market requirements
  • Provide staff support for problem-solving methods and root cause analysis.
  • Analyze the performance of products in service to better direct continuous improvement efforts to increase customer satisfaction


  • Drive root cause and corrective actions internally and externally as required using Doble's SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action) and NCR (Non-Conforming Report) processes
  • Maintain and monitor management reports on KPIs (key performance indicators) and quality costs
  • Manage and maintain a quality management system with IS0 9001 certification
  • Implement other quality certification programs for ISO 45001, 17025 and others as needed
  • Foster a quality assurance mindset throughout the organization; provide necessary training and support to management team members
  • Perform administrative responsibilities, such as preparing budgets, performance evaluations, planning, effective team management, training, coaching, feedback, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field, MS or MBA preferred


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance management in technically complex and demanding environments
  • Lean Six Sigma; Black Belt would be an asset
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification would be an asset
  • Certified as an ISO9001 internal auditor
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, such as assembly and pre- and post-assembly quality assurance methodologies ranging from mechanics and electronics to firmware.
  • Good knowledge of quality tools, such as TQM, APQP, Kaizen, 5S, 5 Why, etc.
  • Experience with Design for Quality methods in the context of new product development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; proven ability to establish credibility and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization; outstanding ability to provide quality assurance feedback and maintain positive and productive relationships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IS09000, ISOI 4000, ISOI 7025, European conformance (CE) standards, product directives (RoHS, WEEE), and other compliance requirements.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Salary Pay Range Minimum $149,628.85 - Midpoint $187,036.06
