Job Description Summary

Reporting to the President, Capital Division, the Senior Director (SD) serves as the primary liaison for a portfolio of approximately 100 EPF sponsors, delivering services tailored to each sponsor's capacity and needs. The SD oversees a team of three Relationship Managers, ensuring consistent, high-
quality client service and coordinated risk management across the portfolio.

This role is responsible for shaping and executing an enhanced strategic plan for EPF client intake, product deployment, and post-closing asset and risk management to create a seamless experience for sponsors. The SD will collaborate closely with product line leaders and staff to strengthen processes, improve client outcomes, and align with Enterprise-wide priorities.
Additional responsibilities include managing a financially sustainable budget and business model; leading cross-divisional collaboration on fundraising, communications, data and analytics, advisory services, peer networking, policy, and advocacy; and engaging with regional EPF cohorts. The SD will also function as the primary point of contact for EPF's most sophisticated participants, ensuring ongoing, two-way thought leadership and responsive support.

As the leader of the Relationship Manager team, the SD drives strategic client growth, team development, and financial performance. This includes setting targets, monitoring investment performance, ensuring policy adherence, analyzing market trends, managing key client segments, and aligning RM activities with overall EPF business goals. The SD partners with senior executives on strategy and new transactions, balancing client satisfaction with fiscal health and risk mitigation.

The SD will also provide a feedback loop to business lines on challenges and opportunities for improvement and will support the resolution of troubled investments or workout situations. The role requires an experienced professional with strong analytical, financial, and relationship-management skills, and the ability to build effective internal and external partnerships within Enterprise and across the community development organizations and regions in which EPF clients operate.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Lead EPF Client Portfolio

Provide leadership and oversight of EPF client experience, ensuring that Enterprise capital and services enhance objectives to scale and grow EPF partners' capacity while improving Enterprise's risk management.

Manage and Develop Team

Oversee and develop a team of 3 direct reports (Relationship Managers); set goals, monitor performance, and foster a high-performance culture.

Financial Oversight

Monitor team's P&L, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with financial targets and identifying opportunities for efficiency.

Manage business models while supporting client growth and Enterprise business line goals.

Strategic Planning

Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for EPF client intake, product deployment, and post-closing asset/risk management.

Collaborate with product line leaders and staff to develop and advance an enhanced strategic plan for EPF client intake, product deployment, and post-closing follow-up.

Develop and execute strategies for client segmentation, RM allocation of partners, cross-selling of E products and services to enhance EPF partners scale and drive E business development.

Manage program strategy and execution as well as serving as the PPOC with the Solutions Partner Sustainability team.

Analyze economic trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to guide RM strategies and identify new business opportunities.

Contribute to the EPF Unit's pipeline of work (e.g., identifying impactful models and partnerships to explore, drafting compelling proposals and building buy-in around those opportunities)

Risk Management

Oversee coordinated risk assessment, monitor investment performance, and serve as PPOC to advise with troubled or workout situations.

Relationship Management

Serve as primary contact for the most sophisticated EPF participants, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership. Serve as PPOC for EPF's most sophisticated participants, ensuring ongoing bidirectional thought leadership to support client needs.

Cultivate relationships with partners, business lines, and external partners including public, and private, and financial intermediaries on behalf of advancing EPF objectives.

Represent Enterprise externally by building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships across community development organizations and regional EPF cohorts, public and private sectors.

Other Duties as Required

Lead Cross Divisional Collaboration to ensure Enterprise-wide alignment on fundraising, communication, data & analytics, advisory services, peer networking, policy & advocacy, and engagement with regional EPF cohorts

Qualifications/Skills Needed

  • A minimum of 15 years of work experience with an undergraduate required and advanced degree in business, finance, real estate, urban planning, or related field preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and critical thinking skills to manage multiple clients, along with strong organizational and analytical skills to manage diverse and complex relationships.
  • Proven track record overseeing complex client portfolios and delivering high-quality client service. Experience managing client-facing teams, ideally within financial services, community development finance, or related sectors preferred.
  • Experience in risk management, investment oversight, and resolving distressed or workout situations.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including sophisticated clients, senior executives, and external partners.
  • Strong finance and real estate experience including strong experience in underwriting within a CDFI or private lending context along with particular focus on real estate focused, small businesses including development and property management; proficiency in analyzing financial statements of nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to assess opportunities, risks and challenges and effectively work with a unique and varied group of small business owners to leverage Enterprise products and services to advance solutions that both mitigate risk and support scaling of EPF clients' capacity.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate and communicate effectively across all levels of Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with a range of federal, state, and local community development programs that finance affordable housing and other real estate assets strongly desired.
  • Strong computer aptitude skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs, are essential.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

The base salary for this role is $160,000 to $192,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance.
