Responsibilities

The Logistic Supervisor is primarily responsible for the oversight of staff in the Logistics and Central Dispatch Operations area. He / She are responsible for scheduling, training & development, performance reviews, and enforcing company policies through the use of the disciplinary process as needed. In addition, provides direct support for the transportation and material management functions including the day-to-day operations of dispatching, scheduling, and payroll.

    Manage, train, develop and provide feedback to assigned staff.
  • Utilizes database to create, edit and maintain employee's schedule
  • Ensure all regulatory guidelines, contractual agreements, policies/procedures are met and followed.
  • Assist with managing databases relating to transportation activities.
  • Input data to accurately create reports regarding delivery and order statistics while ensuring documents /records are maintained in a confidential secure manner.

Ensure DOT Compliance:

  • Verify that all drivers meet DOT requirements, including scheduling compliant hours, maintaining valid medical certifications, and completing required training.

Lean Management:

  • Apply Lean principles to streamline daily logistics operations, reduce waste, improve routing efficiency, and enhance workflow across dispatch, loading, and fleet activities. Identify process gaps, implement continuous-improvement initiatives, and monitor performance metrics.

Fleet & Equipment Oversight:

  • Maintain fleet and mobile equipment by reviewing driver inventory sheets, fleet maintenance records (DVIR), and visual inspection reports. Ensure all repair requests and documentation are submitted, tracked, and closed through the XYZ Process for accuracy and accountability.

Safety Compliance & Incident Handling:

  • Ensure accident/incident forms are completed, documented, and submitted promptly. Follow established procedures to open investigations, gather statements, and escalate findings to management.

Customer & Internal Support:

  • Act as a central point of contact for internal departments and external partners to address service disruptions, resolve issues, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Loadmaster Responsibilities:

  • Oversee loading and unloading operations, ensuring proper vehicle loads, securement of cargo, safety compliance, and accuracy of load plan documentation. Coordinate with drivers and dispatch to ensure on-time departures and efficient routing.

Customer Service Resolution:

  • Partner with internal teams (Dispatch, Hospital Services, Logistics, and Fleet) to troubleshoot and resolve service issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about evolving industry standards, DOT regulations, safety requirements, and technological improvements. Communicate relevant updates to staff and management.
  • Prepare various reports.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Any related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or/
  • College degree in a related field transportation and logistics management preferred.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience dispatch experience in logistic or courier service, fleet management and transportation industry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a collective bargaining environment a plus.

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $75,000.00p/yr. to $81.000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
