Job Title: Jr. Mechanical Engineer

Hourly Rate: Up to $39hr depending on experience
Job Summary:
- Come join our team! We currently have an exciting possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Jr. Mechanical Engineer to work on a Military Vehicle Program. Military vehicle experience is a plus.
Job Description:
- Lead Developmental projects as the System Integration Engineer for build, verification, and delivery of military vehicles to the customer.
- Plan the physical and functional integration activity by developing and maintaining Prototype/Mockup vehicle build schedules.
- Develop, maintain, and execute prototype fabrication and build plans.
- Assist in prototype hardware procurement.
- Initiate shop work orders.
- Coordinate SSE assistance as necessary to support prototype shop activities.
- Function as primary interface between sub-system engineering and the prototype build shop.
- Responsible for vehicle level system integration, verification, and problem reporting/resolution.
- Develop and foster a cohesive build team environment between prototype shop mechanics, sub system engineers, and system engineers.
- Direct mechanics in the assembly of subsystems onto military vehicles using applicable models and drawings.
- Monitor the Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) maturity and Engineering Release Plan execution.
- Track material receipts and address "late to need" issues.
- Generate Engineering Problem Reports to document fabrication, installation, and/or functionality issues discovered during the prototype build.
Required:
- This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space) - (Must be shorter than 6' 4" and weigh less than 260lbs).
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work well in team and individually.
- Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
Preferred:
- Experience with Teamcenter, Vis Mockup and Oracle Systems is a plus.
- Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles is a plus.
