This role is two fold:
Associate Medical Director (0.1 FTE)- ED University of Minnesota Medical Center (West Bank ED)
Clinician (0.90 FTE) - position primarily requires clinical time in the Emergency Departments at the
University of Minnesota Medical Center - East and West Bank Campuses
Flexibility of schedule (block shifts, days/week, etc.)

Job Description
The Associate Medical Director, West Bank is a dedicated member of the Department of Emergency
Medicine and is responsible for:
* Assisting and Co-leading day-to-day oversight of clinical operations, quality, patient experience,
new initiatives, and site metrics
* Supporting Site Medical Director as primary liaison to clinical services and hospital/support
services, primarily relevant to site (e.g. MHAS and Psychiatry - West Bank & Peds ED). Involved
with larger UMMC issues/partnership, as needed.
* Dyad leaders with Nurse Manager and Nursing PCS's for site-specific issues including: clinical
operations, quality, facility, equipment, materials, regulatory visits - projects and ongoing work

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited ACGME Emergency Medicine residency training program
* Board eligible/certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
* Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
* Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
* Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff
* Understands and places importance on patient care/service
* Detail oriented and self-motivated
* Education focused and a creative problem-solver

About the Department

About the Emergency Department at UMMC:

* University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) is a 1,932 licensed bed facility
* UMMC is a Level III Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Level I Cardiac Center
* Approximately 50,000 patients are seen annually between the two campuses

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $350,000-$410,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
