University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a Food Service Manager.

The Food Service Manager provides guidance for food service operations in environments such as dining, retail, and catering venues, including financial and long term operational planning to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals.

The Food Service Manager is a paid leave and benefit eligible position, with salary commensurate with experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop staffing plans which include full time professional staff, temporary positions and student positions. Manages staffing and schedule for dining room, cashers, student manager program, dish room, cleaning, open and closing duties.

  • Provide operational guidance for food service activities, identifies, develops, facilitates staff training opportunities, and/or supervises dining staff

  • Plan and direct staff implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures

  • Monitor the unit budget and approves expenditures

  • Track and forecast inventory levels and place replenishment orders

  • Direct and provide exceptional customer service, answer questions, and provide information regarding food preparation and associated activities

  • Develop staff resources, menus, and communication plans based on established goals

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 5 years food service experience in leading teams delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Demonstrated experience in training, service standards, and guest experience.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems

  • Experience managing food and labor costs
