Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. Your visible presence and professional approach will contribute to a positive atmosphere for staff, patients, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require the presence of an armed security professional.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences as required by Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and first responders during emergencies and/or critical incidents to support a coordinated response.
  • Operate security-related equipment and communication devices as required for the post.
  • Assist in enforcing site-specific rules, regulations, and policies to help to deter disruptions within the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
