Pay Details

The Trump Kennedy Center strives to design equitable compensation programs. The projected pay range for this position is $78,000 - $87,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This is the targeted range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. This range may be modified in the future. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, and experience as it relates to the position qualifications and responsibilities.

Job Description

The Trump Kennedy Center's Planned Giving office is a dynamic team that is entering a period of exciting team growth and strategic development. The Manager of Planned Giving is responsible for ensuring the intentions of donors are fulfilled through direct oversight of the bequest administration process: working directly with estate attorneys, personal representatives, financial institutions, and the Kennedy Center general counsel and finance offices to evaluate and realize bequests. The Manager also owns their own planned giving portfolio and serves as a liaison for frontline colleagues to serve as a resource and representative of the Office of Planned Giving.

Key Responsibilities

Bequest administration: evaluate and process gifts received through estate, trust, annuity, or other deferred giving:

• Collaborates across Kennedy Center legal and finance departments to facilitate gifts and serves as Kennedy Center representative to executors and legal representatives in progressing bequests and estate gifts, as appropriate.
• Refines process steps and maps the workflow to ensure efficiency and best practices are being utilized across the team.
• Oversees the accurate record-keeping of commitments, forecasting and pipeline development, and budgets by working with the Planned Giving team and collaborating with other frontline teams.

Portfolio Management and frontline support: cultivate leads in a portfolio and assist frontline fundraising teams:

• Manages a portfolio of opportunities to secure planned gift intentions by moving leads and prospects through the moves management process.
• Partners with gift officers to refine giving strategies to reflect best practices in charitable estate planning and provide insight into giving vehicles and gifting strategies.
• Provides knowledge and support for cultivation and solicitation via briefings, proposal writing, marketing materials, or annual reports.

Marketing and Events: support the communications and event strategies of the Planned Giving Team:

• Contributing to marketing and communications pieces as a resource of gift planning strategies.
• Assist in the planning of cultivation and stewardship events as needed.
• Collaborate with the Planned Giving Team as a resource to Donors and Prospects making gift planning inquiries.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Demonstrated experience in planned giving and/or endowment is required.
• Track record of building, growing, and maintaining donor relationships.
• Experience with Tessitura or a similar CRM database
• Experience with a project management program, such as Asana
• Careful attention to detail and awareness of standard accounting and legal procedures.
• Ability to interface with high-level executives and deftly manage many relationships and personality types - both internal among staff members, and external among constituents.
• Superior and professional organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foresee development needs, generate work for this position and for others supportive of this position, and multitask efficiently.
• A clear understanding of the Trump Kennedy Center mission, and an understanding of the ways in which a fundraising operation works within a large and complex institution.
• Ability and confidence to work without close supervision.
• Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area. Relocation assistance is not provided.
• Candidate must be willing to work onsite.
