Machine Maintenance Technician
Level: We are open to entry-level through senior (based on experience).

Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Chicopee, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Pay Range: $18-$35 per hour. This range reflects flexibility based on experience and skill level, allowing for placement at either an entry-level or senior level. Final compensation will be determined based on market data, geographic location, and the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Machine Maintenance Technician Summary:

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Maintenance personnel will be responsible for the general upkeep of all operating equipment and equipment modifications with the plant. Changes to production tooling within machines, changes or repairs RF sealing rule when needed. Load processing parameters into machine set-up controls. Document setup production in machine logs. Maintenance Technicians will work in collaboration with the Senior Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Supervisor to problem solve complex issues or complicated tasks as needed.

Machine Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works safely, utilizing lock-out / tag-out procedures and follows UFPT and OSHA safe work practices.
  • Performs scheduled and preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs during production as needed.
  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics, manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Uses various hand and power tools, electric meters, measuring gauges (e.g., verniers), and material handling equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Detects faulty operations or defective materials and reports issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Prepares machines for fabrications of manufacturing parts.
  • Works to determine proper machine adjustments to ensure quality product is achievable.
  • Completes maintenance work orders, submitting them to manager and/or enter into our maintenance software as required.
  • Reads and interprets manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Performs interior and exterior maintenance on all operating machinery.
  • Performs inspections, identifies problems, and performs corrective action on equipment.
  • Follows up on all repairs performed and ensures proper actions were taken.
  • Follows inventory standards of all parts necessary for scheduled maintenance.
  • Maintains and updates logs to track machine settings and maintenance records.
  • Manages proper storage and condition of all tools.
  • Conducts thickness measurement using measuring gauges / verniers.
  • Communicates equipment status and maintenance updates with Maintenance Supervisor and team members as needed.
  • Ensures required tools, supplies, and spare parts are available, properly stored, and ready for use.
  • Reports safety issues to safety personnel and the maintenance supervisor for setup and safe execution of preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains a clean, organized 5S-compliant work area.

Machine Maintenance Technician Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or vocational school equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical experience.
  • Trade or vocational certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical/mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of factory machinery and machining operations.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices including but not limited to LOTO and machine guarding.
  • Good math and problem-solving skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with hydraulic & pneumatic machinery preferred.
