Job Summary


The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory control throughout the plant and is directly responsible for cycle counting in the facility. This role will report directly to the Materials Manager, oversee the daily activities of the inventory staff, analyze inventory data, cycle counts and ensure accuracy of inventory records.



The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies, working closely with the Logistics Supervisor, Paper Supervisor and other cross-functional departments throughout the business unit.



Job Responsibilities



  • Always promote safety and quality within the plant
  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels and customer purchase trends to ensure that goals are met and inventory is accurate
  • Ensure activities are focused on relentless execution of continuous supply of goods and materials to production


  • Develop, implement, and update inventory control procedures and policies to minimize losses and reduce costs.
  • Accurately record and document inventory data
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the inventory staff
  • Review inventory records and transactions for accuracy
  • Track inventory levels and report on any changes or trends
  • Prepare and submit reports to management
  • Oversees team of inventory or warehouse employees.
  • Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels.
  • Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
  • Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
  • Manages schedules of employees, deliveries and shipments to optimize operations.
  • Communicates with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues.
  • Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
  • Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.
  • Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed to management

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree recommended. Major in Business or Logistics preferred


  • Previous experience as an Inventory Supervisor or related position
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory management principles and practices


  • 2-3 years of experience in a logistics function preferred
  • Knowledge of the protective packaging industry is preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis and related tools (Excel expertise is a must); knowledge of SAP is beneficial
  • Ability to manage projects or threads of projects and perform self-directed work.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and various requirements gathering techniques.



Compensation



The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $67-$80K.
