Job Title: Field Engineer 4 Location(s): Lansing, MI Mandatory Certification CompTIA A+ Certification - Required Candidates without A+ must obtain certification within 90 days of start date or will be subject to termination. Dell Certifications Required after selection and before start date Free of cost to candidates Completed remotely (open book) Must be completed within approximately 3 business days after selection Key Responsibilities Perform on-site break/fix services for laptops and desktops in the assigned metro area. Replace hardware components including: Hard drives Motherboards Keyboards LCD screens Perform whole-unit swaps and peripheral replacements Diagnose and resolve basic to non-complex hardware/software issues Close service tickets in real time using the Client Call Management System via company-provided mobile device Travel daily to multiple customer locations Key Qualifications Must have own reliable car and valid car insurance Minimum 1+ year of hands-on laptop and desktop break/fix experience Experience diagnosing Dell laptops and PCs Computer-building background preferred General knowledge of: Desktop/laptop hardware Windows OS Basic Microsoft applications Ability to follow directed troubleshooting procedures Client and/or government clearance may be required Police or criminal background verification may be required Mileage & Travel Policy Candidates are not paid for travel from home to first work location or from last location back home. All mileage during the workday is reimbursed per Client standard mileage policy. Extensive driving is required (2-3 hours at times).
