Department Summary

The Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer advises the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost regarding academic and budgetary planning issues and allocation of campus resources, including issues involving students, faculty, staff, space, and university finances. The office also manages the key campus planning processes and data sets that support these decisions, and performs a central role in UCLA's systems of internal control and accountability. The office also is responsible for the capital planning and finance, real estate, design and construction of all campus capital projects.
Position Summary

Reporting to the Communications & Human-Centered Design Strategist on the Change Management + Media Innovation Team, the Training and Engagement Specialist is responsible for creating and supporting the implementation of training and engagement activities for internal and external end-users of services administered through the VC & CFO Organization. This role applies organizational change management methodologies to design, deliver, and evaluate employee-facing system training and engagement programs of moderate scope and complexity. This role works collaboratively across departments to assess campus training needs and associated change impacts, administer programs, and ensure effective learning and engagement outcomes. The position requires sound judgment within established guidelines and practices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of functional areas and understanding of how training may impact other areas. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of delivering training programs, both synchronous and asynchronous. (Required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, coworkers, and other University personnel and interact diplomatically with a diversified public. (Required)
  • Skill in analyzing information, situations and procedures to define problems and formulate conclusions. (Required)
  • Skill in speaking concisely and logically, using grammatically correct language to convey information and explain policies and procedures. (Required)
  • Experience in technical writing and presentation materials using grammatically correct language. (Required)
  • Ability to think outside the box to showcase strong project management skills and experience. (Required)
  • Ability to work independently to evaluate and establish priorities and accomplish departmental goals and objectives. (Required)
  • Ability to train others, or conduct productive meetings, giving effective oral presentations individually or in-group settings to audiences of diverse educational and professional backgrounds. (Required)
  • Extensive knowledge of computer systems and their application to other and computer systems and ability to operate a personal computer using such applications as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. (Required)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of education and experience / training. (Required)
