In this role, the researcher will design, optimize, and maintain advanced algorithms for assembling sequences within the human MHC genomic region and apply these computational methods to largescale disease association studies. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to highimpact research at the intersection of immunogenomics, computational biology, and human disease.

Visiting Researcher position is a fulltime, twoyear appointment with the possibility of extension depending on funding and program needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other researchers in the area of bioinformatics and data analysis

* Develop, optimize and maintain algorithms for assembly of human MHC genomic region sequences

* Develop, optimize and maintain genomic graph representation for population-scale analysis of MHC genomic variation

* Perform annotation of MHC region genes and variants; submit to public databases

* Apply methods to high-throughput disease association studies

* System administration of Norman lab Linux-based servers

* Present research in progress at lab meetings, project meetings, and individual PI meetings

Work Location:
