Title: Construction Site Supervisor - Chemical Water Treatment

Assists the Site Manager in supervising and coordinating the construction of water treatment systems. Supports the Site Manager in monitoring on-site activities to ensure that quality, schedule, and safety requirements set by the client and Kurita are consistently met. Reviews construction drawings and schedules, and collaborates with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize the project timeline. Prepares work schedules, maintains construction records, and generates reports to identify and resolve issues, ensuring effective site management.



Responsibilities

    Plans and coordinates site facilities, safety and health equipment, and temporary installations in compliance with U.S. regulations, client requirements, and site rules; assists the Site Manager in implementing these measures.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating delivery plans for SKID units, equipment, and components based on architectural drawings, plant layouts, and site survey results.
  • Prior to and during construction, share and resolve issues related to the work with partner companies to ensure smooth progress, taking all necessary measures.
  • Regularly review site conditions against the project schedule and actively coordinate progress with contractors and partner companies. In case of delays, discuss recovery plans with contractors to maintain the schedule.
  • Manage construction in accordance with company standards as work progresses, ensuring proper documentation. Collect and consolidate construction records from contractors.
  • Monitors construction status using P&ID and piping drawings, records progress, and verifies that installations meet design and material specifications, reporting discrepancies to the Site Manager.
  • Attends construction management meetings with clients and contractors, communicates requirements and concerns to the Site Manager, and helps incorporate them into site activities.
  • Work Location: On-site at the project office, 5 days per week.
  • Travel: Approximately 25% of travel required to project sites outside Arizona.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares weekly reports documenting progress and issues, and submits them to the Site Manager.
  • Seeks continuous improvement by identifying more efficient and cost-effective work processes.
  • Reviews and provides advice on management issues related to site activities, in coordination with the Site Manager.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
  • Maintains high ethical standards and complies with company policies and site rules.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to the Site Manager and assists in finding solutions.
  • Maintains effective communication with the Site Manager, office staff, and external partners.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the working area is kept clean and safe, and enforces housekeeping standards on site.
  • Promptly reports to the Site Manager any issues affecting schedules, milestones, safety, health, costs, or unforeseen problems, and seeks guidance as needed.


Qualifications

  • Experience supervising construction for water treatment systems, industrial facilities, or large-scale water supply and sanitary piping projects, or similar types of work.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of relevant on-site supervision experience in construction projects.

Tools & Equipment

  • General office equipment including personal computers, printers, plotters, and network file shares.
  • Software: Windows OS; MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint); MS Project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with field coordination tools (e.g., look-ahead schedules, daily logs) and mobile site applications is preferred.
  • Ability to use engineering drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM) for construction management; drafting is not required, but candidates must be able to:
  • view and interpret drawings,
  • use the software to verify details and support issue resolution during construction and communicate effectively with subcontractors and design firms while navigating and reviewing drawings

Certificates/Licenses

  • Valid Driver's License
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour (Construction) and OSHA 510 (Construction) required, or willingness to obtain after hire.
  • EHS certifications: ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional); CSP preferred.
  • Specialized safety training (e.g., HAZOPER, ESS, NFPA 70E)
  • Preferred: Experience as a qualifying party under Arizona ROC B-1 General Commercial Contractor, or equivalent familiarity.
