About the Role

MWH is currently seeking a Self-Performed Construction Superintendent who is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all field activities related to self-performed construction work on heavy civil and water/wastewater projects. This role requires hands-on leadership and technical expertise across structural concrete, mechanical installation, and civil construction, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.

The project support is for a wastewater treatment construction project in Gypsum, Colorado.

Essential Functions



  • Supervise and coordinate self-performed crews, including carpenters, laborers, operators, and mechanical installers.
  • Plan daily and weekly work activities, manpower, and equipment needs.
  • Provide hands-on field leadership and mentor foremen and craft personnel.
  • Structural concrete, including foundations, slabs, walls, and decks.
  • Formwork system,s including Gage Forms.
  • Mechanical installation including pumps, valves, process equipment, and supports.
  • Piping system,s including underground utilities and process piping.
  • Civil construction, including excavation, grading, trenching, and site utilities.
  • Execute work on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
  • Coordinate sequencing, tie-ins, shutdowns, and commissioning support.
  • Conduct JHAs, toolbox talks, and enforce OSHA and site safety plans.
  • Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Participate in inspections and testing.
  • Support project schedules and track productivity.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Maintain daily reports and communicate progress and issues.


Basic Qualifications



  • Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in supervising/managing heavy civil construction projects and managing subcontractors and/or craft.
  • Knowledge of all construction disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Cost control, manpower planning and scheduling knowledge.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Working understanding of CPM scheduling techniques.
  • Ability to develop and maintain outstanding relations with owner and subcontractors.
  • Experience with project closeout and punchlist management.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Special experience and expertise with water/wastewater projects.
  • Safety-oriented, OSHA training.
