ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will perform in a Sr. Construction Administration Leader role. You will be responsible for the leading, developing and helping assemble the project team administering construction contracts on behalf of CannonDesign for for large scale projects, with particular focus on quality control and cost control from project start-up to closeout on projects and ensuring the client is satisfied with the delivery of our services from start to finish of construction.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Be the prime liaison betweenbuilder, client/ownerand design teams.
  • Lead and contribute with other team members in developing and maintainingthe project Risk Assessment process during Construction Administration. Proactively identifies, communicates, mitigates and resolves project-related issues.
  • Attendsite meetings include scheduling, cost management, pre-installation, and bi-weekly meetings.
  • Work with overall Project Director and individual Project Managers to assign team members to various scopes of the Construction Administration scope.
  • Manage internal Construction Administration efforts and team both on site and in offices working closely with Construction Administration Coordinators, Document Control and Quality Leaders.
  • Guide the team to implement thefirmCA policies. Meet regularly with the project's Senior Project Architect(s) and Engineering Discipline Leaders to discuss quality reviews and ongoing challengesseekingto resolve issues early.
  • Work with overall Project Technical Director and individual Project Managers to collect pertinent information from across multiple project meetings todisseminateholistic direction and data to the Construction Administration team for action.
  • Participate with the Project Technical Director and their designee in hiringofConstruction Administration team for the project.
  • Lead,monitorand participate in the review and interpretation of construction documents, the development and issuance of documentation related to field conditions and issues, and coordination of the work with consultants and the project team.
  • Lead,monitorand participate in the resolution of problems that arise on the jobsite, development of recommendations and coordination of changes to the contract documents.
  • Lead,monitorand participate in tracking the changes made to documents and applyingappropriate reasoncodes. Track costsrelatedto changes andmaintainlog.
  • Consult client/owner on all issues related to the project.
  • Lead andmonitorthe processing, review and response to Requests for Information and Submittals.
  • Review,commentand approve change proposals from the builder.
  • Review construction progress,advisestatus on projectcompletionand authorize payment applications.
  • Contribute to the capture and reuse of institutional knowledge and process improvements within the firm focused onvery largeproject implementation and share with the Technical Leadership Group.
  • Lead the monthly reporting of CA performance metrics and issues back to project, firm and client asrequired.
  • Lead andmonitorand participate in performing periodic QA/QC construction site visits, including substantial presence at the construction site.
  • Expectsubstantial, potentially continuous, presence at the construction site.
  • Prepare daily and other reports as contractually obligated.
  • Lead andmonitorand participate in preparation of Certification of Substantial Completion for authorization by Architect/Engineer of Record.
  • Adhere toestablishedon-site project procedures.
  • Adhere to CannonDesign and construction site safety program requirements and work rules.
  • Will work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect whenrequired.
  • Travel asrequired.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field required.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the construction administration required. Institutional and/or commercial project experience for at least the last 5 years required.
  • Healthcare and Education Project experiencestronglypreferred.
  • Registration or Licensure preferred.
  • LEED accreditationpreferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge, coordinationskillsand the ability to build a rapport with the project teamisessential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam isrequired.
  • Familiarity with the operation of construction management software (ex. Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud,Fieldwire) isrequired.
