Status: Non-Exempt


Grade: 6


Salary Range: $20.00 - $28.01 per hour


Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.


Location: Somers, NY




Principal Objective

The Flex Banker position will be responsible to perform the job responsibilities of both a Teller and a Personal Banking Representative.



Teller Objective: A Flex Banker is responsible for processing financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing and loan payments in an efficient and accurate manner while providing outstanding service to customers. Ensures every transaction is completed in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in sharing and organizing workflow. Consistently provides exceptional customer service. Solve customer problems or refer them to the appropriate colleague. Recognizes opportunities to cross-sell the Bank's products and services to meet our customers' needs. Maintains confidentiality of bank records and customer information. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.



Personal Banking Representative Objective: The Flex Banker will be responsible to develop new relationships as well as retain and expand existing customer relationships. The Flex Banker will have the opportunity to provide a combination of consumer and business banking services. Greet customers, build relationships, open new accounts and sell a full range of financial products and services exceeding the customers' expectations. Identifying customer's financial needs and delivering solution by offering our products and services to meet their needs. Proactively deepens existing relationships by uncovering needs. Develops new customer relationships capitalizing on in-bound inquiries and outbound business development. Engages in the bank's Incentive Program and exceeds individual sales goals and contributes to the overall branch goals. Takes personal initiative and embraces our vision to become the premier bank in the community.



In this position, the Flex Banking Specialist is responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service in accordance with the Bank's commitment to deliver "World Class Service".



Principal Duties and Responsibilities




  • Provides excellent customer service, identifies customer needs and suggest appropriate line of products
  • Proactively develops new customer relationships and expands relationship with existing customers.
  • Possess good working knowledge of all depository products and alternate delivery services.
  • Research and resolve all customer problems and inquires
  • Good working knowledge of wire transfer policy and procedures
  • Possess good working knowledge of all consumer-lending products
  • Interview consumer loan applicants. Submit and close consumer and equity loans.
  • Basic knowledge of small business lending products
  • Consistently adhere to the bank policies and procedures regarding account sales, branch operations, security, compliance and regulatory.
  • Educates customers with all products and services and alternate delivery channels such as; On-line Banking, Bill Pay, Mobile Banking, ATM and Cash Management services.
  • Willingness to engage in outside business development activities including cold calling and community involvement
  • Process teller transactions
  • Meet or exceed incentive goals
  • Contribute to the overall branch goals in sales and service
  • Maintains a teller cash drawer and process complex transaction



Job Specifications (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required)



  • Good working knowledge of Bank products and services
  • Good working knowledge of all bank operating procedures, practice and policies
  • Direct sales and customer service experience to meet or exceed personal sales goals and contribute to team goals.
  • Ability to cross sell other products and services to meet or exceed cross-sell goal and/or teller referral goals
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and good organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize workflow, multi-task, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Previous teller experience
  • Extensive cash handling experience
  • Enthusiastic, goal oriented and customer focus
  • Ability to analyze situations and solve complex issues
  • One to two years Teller experience or Associates degree in related business discipline with one to two years sales experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Work involves sitting, extended period of standing, occasional walking and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with BSA/AML regulations
