Job Summary A Distribution Arranger, will work with ESSO Leadership to support the safe and reliable operation of the Distribution Electric System, reviewing, analyzing and preparing switching for operational and maintenance tasks and the installation of asset improvements. They will oversee the distribution system in real time to ensure safe, reliable, delivery of service to customers and communities. Arrangers will work out of the distribution control center, which operates 24/7, and will be required to work shifts accordingly.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate Safety Leadership by promoting and assuring a safe working environment, as well as helping to support the continued improvement of electric operations public safety.
- Collaborate with and build strong working relationships with internal and external groups to coordinate work efforts.
- Ensures work is completed according to company standards, regulation, processes and procedures.
- Cultivate and advance a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Utilize OMS, SCADA, and other operational programs and systems to monitor and maintain the health of the distribution system.
- Review all planned switching requests and analyze all system impacts and feasibility, including working with field operations and planning engineers.
- Prepare and review all planned switching orders on the distribution system.
- Assist in all emergency switching requests and outage restoration, collaborating with ESSO supervisor, distribution dispatchers and dispatch operators.
- Monitor Distribution Automation System for real time alarms and status changes.
- Track all switching on the system take out and go back dates are in compliance.
- Run ADMS analysis such as Power Flow, Fault Location Analysis, Feeder Load Management and other in the future.
- Verification and commissioning of GIS data in NMS.
- Work with NMS support team to update and validate model in OMS.
- Periodically assume duties of ESSO Supervisor.
- Respond to emergencies within the company established procedures, incident command system structure, and storm recovery structure.
Required Qualifications For Position
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of experience in the electric utility industry operations or engineering
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to quickly assess and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to motivate stakeholders with varying priorities to accomplish a common goal.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use variety of technologies used for everyday tasks.
- Knowledge of distribution and transmission line and substation (troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational activities)
- Understand of single line diagrams, engineering drawings, prints, and standards.
- Periodically assuming duties of ESSO Supervisor.
- Additional hours more than 40/week, shift rotations (4x4 days and nights) and/or out of town or overnight travel may be required to meet expectations of this position.
- Complete and pass NIPSCO's General Order training.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts and theories.
- Work daily in the following software applications: iTOA, NMS, GIS, SAP, CIS, ESO1, SCADA, CYME, and MS Office suite of applications
- Provide technical support and operational data to various operating, planning, and engineering groups to assist in the planning, installation, and operation of new equipment additions to the electric system with emphasis on future operational needs, system reliability, and safe switching practices.
- Assigns equipment designations for electric line switches, new and existing lines, and addresses special operating conditions within these areas.
- Monitors current electric system operating conditions using Network Management System (NMS) and other computer databased systems, as they become available, for abnormalities affecting or having the potential to affect safety and/or system reliability.
- Communicates frequently with Planning, Engineering, Substation, Construction, Technical Services, Local Operating personnel, and customer groups to address current and future operational and construction issues.
- Valid driver's license.

Salary Range*: $96,600.00 - $144,900.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2026-01-08
