Worley is seeking a qualified Mechanical Inspector to support construction and commissioning activities on major energy, chemicals, mining, or infrastructure projects. The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and Worley's quality and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and monitor mechanical construction activities, including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, and structural interfaces.

  • Verify that installation works comply with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, international codes (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO), and client requirements.

  • Review and approve mechanical Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality documentation.

  • Witness and document inspections, tests, and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, alignment, torqueing, flushing, and pre-commissioning checks.

  • Ensure materials and equipment delivered to site comply with approved material submittals and specifications.

  • Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs, and verify corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

  • Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical and quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, punch lists, and handover documentation.

  • Promote and enforce Worley's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies on site.

  • Support mechanical completion and system handover processes.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical inspection within EPC/EPCM projects (oil & gas, energy, chemicals, or industrial sectors).

  • Strong knowledge of international standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, and ASTM.

  • Experience with piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.

  • Certification such as API, CSWIP, or equivalent inspection certification is preferred.

  • Proven experience working on brownfield and/or greenfield construction sites.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC systems, inspection reporting, and document control processes.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Commitment to safety and compliance with HSE standards.

  • Proficiency in inspection reporting and basic computer applications.
