Job Description

The welding supervisor will lead, provide direction, and supervise a team of production personnel in order to meet or exceed safety, quality, customer experience and cost control objectives. Actively support and provide feedback manufacturing personnel to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements


  • Lead and ensure safety compliance in the assigned area and in accordance with company requirements and best practices.

  • Ensure work meets specifications by reviewing blueprints, monitoring welding procedures (WPS), and coordinating inspections with CWI/QA and assisting with machine set-ups.

  • Ensure work orders jobs are being completed and received correctly in the MRP system to reflect accurate inventory on subassemblies and finished goods.

  • Consistently lead teams to meet production and/or shipping goals to meet or exceed customer demand.

  • Monitor inventory levels necessary to complete production schedules and report discrepancies and additional requirements as necessary.

  • Direct, assist and evaluate team members in both daily and long term requirements and goals.

  • Monitors and maintains efficiencies to achieve best cost and on-time delivery.

  • Prioritize issues, analyze situations and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Provide work flow management, planning, analysis, and training necessary to operate department in a clean, safe and productive manner.

  • Review and approve employee time and schedules, including overtime management.

  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisition materials from storage area.

Qualifications


  • College degree preferred/not required.

  • Solid understanding about how MRP systems work (QAD, SAP, Etc.).

  • 1-2 years of experience leading a team required / 3 years of experience leading a team preferred.

  • 3-5 years of direct experience in hands-on welding/fabrication operations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, One Note, Etc.)

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in a factory and is exposed to the temperature changes. This will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines. A portion of this role will be performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
