Global Prototype Purchasing Buyer

We are seeking a Global Prototype Purchasing Buyer to support the sourcing and procurement of prototype automotive components across Body/Exterior, Interior, Chassis, Engine Systems, Electrical, and Propulsion Systems for the North America region. In this role, you will collaborate with purchasing colleagues worldwide and serve as a key partner to engineering teams during early product development.

The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a strategic mindset toward supplier engagement. You will be responsible for issuing RFQs, quoting, evaluating, and negotiating with qualified suppliers. As well as developing supplier bid lists, creating sourcing recommendations, and commodity strategies. You will present sourcing proposals to global and regional leadership and ensure alignment with production and program purchasing throughout the prototype lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in purchasing or in roles requiring significant negotiation and/or exposure to sourcing and project management processes
  • Demonstrated record of achieving results and exhibiting leadership within cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to confidently interface with all levels of management
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
  • Proven ability to lead projects and drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to adapt quickly to urgent or changing requests


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree
  • Automotive industry experience and a strong interest in automotive product development
  • Advanced cost-analysis capabilities with the ability to think and act strategically
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent cross-functional interactions
  • Strong analytical skills with experience solving complex problems
