Rockland Trust is seeking a forward-thinking, strategic Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead the evolution of our brand, drive customer engagement, and accelerate growth in an increasingly digital and customer-centric environment. As a key member of the Executive Committee, the CMO will shape and execute a bold marketing vision aligned with the bank's long-term strategy, blending creativity, data, technology, and purpose to deliver exceptional customer value. This role will oversee brand, marketing, customer experience, and product positioning across digital and physical channels, in addition to overseeing the bank's charitable foundation, sponsorships and community engagement, public relations, corporate and internal communications. The ideal candidate is both a modern marketing strategist and an execution-focused leader who thrives in a world shaped by data, AI, and fast-changing customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Lead a unified brand strategy that drives awareness, trust, and loyalty across all touchpoints-digital, physical, mobile, voice, and emerging platforms.
- Position Rockland Trust as a purpose-driven and innovative financial brand through a balance of performance marketing and long-term brand building.
- Ensure brand messaging reflects the bank's community impact, and customer-first philosophy.
Digital & Omnichannel Marketing
- Champion a digital-first approach to marketing, integrating traditional and digital channels into a seamless omnichannel customer journey.
- Lead the strategy for content, paid media, SEO/SEM, social, and emerging platforms, while ensuring consistent, on-brand experiences.
- Leverage voice, mobile apps, and digital banking innovations to personalize engagement and streamline experiences.
Data-Driven Strategy & Marketing Technology
- Develop advanced, insight-led marketing strategies using customer data, predictive analytics, and AI tools to deliver highly targeted campaigns.
- Lead the continued evolution of our marketing technology stack-CRM, CDP, automation platforms-ensuring seamless integration with sales and service tools.
- Build a closed-loop system to track customer behavior and conversion from lead through lifetime value.
- Own and lead strategy for management and evolution of enterprise Salesforce instance
AI & Marketing Innovation
- Pilot and scale use of generative AI and machine learning for personalization, content generation, and campaign optimization.
- Foster a culture of experimentation-testing new channels, messaging, and tools rapidly with clear performance metrics and agile methodologies.
Market Growth Strategy
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to identify target segments, understand customer needs, and market differentiated products and value propositions.
- Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and proactively adapt offerings.
- Manage product performance and go-to-market plans in partnership with business line leaders.
Data Privacy, Ethics & Compliance
- Ensure all marketing initiatives adhere to evolving privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and internal data governance policies.
- Lead ethical marketing practices that build customer trust and protect brand integrity.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and lead a high-performing, future-ready marketing organization focused on agility, creativity, and measurable impact.
- Develop a culture of innovation and continuous learning by upskilling staff in AI tools, data literacy, digital marketing, and analytics.
- Align team goals with enterprise KPIs and ensure clear accountability for performance and ROI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Product, IT, and Customer Experience teams to deliver cohesive, full-funnel marketing strategies.
- Drive alignment between brand storytelling, product innovation, and customer needs for scalable and repeatable growth.
Qualifications:
- 7+ to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, preferably within financial services or similarly regulated industries.
- Proven success in leading digital transformation, omnichannel marketing, and data-driven strategy in both B2B and B2C environments.
- Expertise with AI tools, CRM systems, marketing automation, and performance analytics.
- Strong business acumen and a track record of delivering measurable ROI.
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience with ethical marketing practices and data privacy compliance.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
