Job Summary

The Central Registration Technician is responsible for ensuring an efficient and accurate patient registration process across the organization. This role verifies insurance, updates demographic information, collects required documentation, and provides exceptional customer service to patients and families. As a key member of the administrative team, the Central Registration Technician supports smooth patient flow, collaborates with clinical and billing staff, and helps maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Accuracy, professionalism, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and required documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Update and maintain demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide clear communication regarding the registration process and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to support patient flow and resolve registration-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain organized records and follow established workflows and procedures.

Requirements

Central Registration Technician Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of administrative. medical office, behavioral health, or office support experience required.
  • Previous experience as an Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, or Executive Assistant strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong reading and writing skills is required.
  • Awareness of HIPPA Laws and Regulations
