DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, provides full range of administrative support for the Operating Room. Answers phones, directs calls, schedules surgical and invasive services, procedures, and clinic visits. Serves as primary receptionist as needed. Coordinates communications between several operating rooms via telephone and intercom. Acts as liaison between patients, patient's families, surgeons, nursing staff and outside parties when needed. Generates a variety of correspondence, reports, and minutes. Assigns scrub access, stocks coffee in the lounge, and maintain various databases.

This Per Diem position will be the administrative assistant support for the Jacobs Medical Center's operating room (OR) department and will be a variable schedule, as needed, including weekends. Will be assigned other administrative tasks as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years recent administrative experience in Operating Room (or similar healthcare environment), with a variety of surgical cases.
  • Experience in a inpatient setting, medical assistant background, and 3 plus years of healthcare experience in a large setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess effective time management skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Highly detail-oriented.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively and equitably with others.
PREEFRRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
  • Database management experience. Working knowledge of EPIC/OpTime system, and ORSOS.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,484 - $67,484 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.32 - $32.32

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
