The Assembler Technician is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and assembling ophthalmic lenses into frames in accordance with prescription specifications. This role ensures high-quality standards, accurate lens alignment, and timely production while supporting overall finishing operations at the Dallas Lab Facility. Responsibilities:
Clean, inspect, and assemble ophthalmic lenses into frames following prescription requirements and standard operating procedures Verify lens size, fit, axis, beveling, and cosmetic quality for multifocal, progressive, rimless, metal, and zyl frames Properly align frames, including temples, bridges, pad arms, and hinges, using tools and manual techniques Ensure all screws are secure and frames meet quality and safety standards Prioritize work based on production schedules and start dates Inspect frames for defects or damage before completion Meet established production and quality goals with minimal rework or returns Assist with cross-training and provide support in other finishing areas as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required 3-5 years of experience in the optical industry, specifically working with ophthalmic lenses, preferred Ability to read, understand, and follow work tickets, prescriptions, and standard operating procedures Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate lens assembly and alignment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in a team environment Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and write English Flexibility to work overtime or varied shifts as business needs require Commitment to following all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
