ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Create CAD Drawings for engineering projects.
  • Search the MRP database and create accurate bills of material for trailer designs.
  • Process sales orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interpret drawing questions and support manufacturing day to day with trouble shooting and design improvements.


  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly paperwork and reports as required.


  • Provide training, mentoring and assistance to other employees as assigned.
  • Follow action and communication protocols for nonstandard deviation in processes or materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



SKILL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on CAD or similar drafting software packages, XA and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good understanding of engineering and design principles, methods and techniques.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the facility.
  • Solid analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Effective knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process.
  • Strong team player.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • CAD course, AutoCAD 2D & 3D preferred.


  • Good working knowledge and experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Nastran or equivalent software.


  • Advanced 3D modeling skills in Inventor
  • Good working knowledge and experience using Load Xpert for multi-unit road trains in various states/countries of operation
  • Experience in FMEA for ASME vessels as well as DOT code trailers
  • Great working knowledge of ASME and DOT vehicle codes.
  • Minimum of one year of product engineering experience in a related industry.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas were all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Sitting or standing as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching, pushing, pulling or lifting as required within limits set by Entrans International LLC.
