Job Description




As a Security Officer - Federal Building Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will interact with the public, provide outstanding customer service, and uphold the values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential hazards.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control and monitor the movement of individuals throughout the location.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and/or unauthorized access.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and the public while upholding Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
