The Computed Tomography Technologist Weekend Option is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This role has a weekend option, in which the staff member is required to commit to WEO requirements and work two shifts within the WEO window for a premium rate.

Essential Job Function
  • Operates head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer-generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan.
  • Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
  • Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
  • Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
  • Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
