HDR is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist II to work in our Transportation Business Group as a member of our Environmental Sciences and Planning Section, based out of either our Nashville or Brentwood, Tennessee offices. In the role of Environmental Scientist II, we'll count on you to:
Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc. Manage a variety of complex environmental projects and programs, coordinating and managing resources needed to deliver technical studies. Assimilate and manage data. Define the level of environmental analysis required. Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods. Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings. Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance. Perform other related duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
10 years of environmental science experience in a variety of contexts. TN QHP Certification. Project management experience. Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong environmental writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
