Responsibilities
Position Summary: In partnership with the Executive Director, the Clinical Director supports all aspects of clinical operations, programming, and treatment services at their assigned program. The Clinical Director is responsible for fulfillment of essential duties, whether directly or ensuring program compliance. In collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer, the Clinical Director protects and enhances the Newport Healthcare brand, focused on safety, integrity, and quality of care. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Confidentiality. Keeps sensitive business and personnel information private. Shares information only with those who have a legitimate business need to know. Seeks guidance when unsure. Uses discretion and judgment in utilizing modes of data sharing.
- Confronting Direct Reports. Demonstrates ability to deal with problems in a firm and timely manner; does not allow problems to fester; regularly reviews performance and holds timely discussions; deals effectively with problems or low performing employees.
- Development of Direct Reports. Must be able to provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments; holds frequent development discussions with staff, constructs effective development plans and executes them.
- Directing Others. Must be able to establish clear directions; set stretching but obtainable objectives; and maintain two-way dialogue on work and while holding the employee accountable for results; able to bring out the best in people.
- Fast-Paced Environment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Industry Knowledge. Demonstrates a working knowledge of current and possible future policies, practices, trends and developments affecting the industry; knows the competition.
- Managerial Courage. Must be able to say what needs to be said; provide current, direct, complete and "actionable" positive and corrective feedback to others in a timely manner; is not afraid to take negative action when necessary.
- Process Management. Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow; knows what to measure and how to measure it; can see opportunities for synergy and integration; can simplify complex processes.
- Supervisory. This position manages others who supervise employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems following Newport Healthcare's protocols.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, License Requirements:
- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
- Licensed in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work required.
- Two years or more of relevant clinical experience with adolescents, young adults, and families, with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disordered populations.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a residential setting.
- Current CPR certification or obtain within first 30 days of employment required.
- Must meet state specific age and pre-employment requirements such as background checks and drug screening.
