Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol Full-Time in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a prominent healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will interact with visitors, patients, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation and appropriate communication.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns, documenting incidents according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and maintaining visitor logs as required by site procedures.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including assisting with evacuations or medical emergencies, in accordance with location-specific guidelines.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to provide reassurance to staff, patients, and visitors while promoting adherence to site rules and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
