SCHEDULE ANALYST (ADV)

LOCATION:
Huntsville, AL

SUMMARY: The Schedule Analyst will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

1. IMS Maintenance and Reporting:

  • Effectively incorporate, status, and analyze information into the Government IMS from various sources.
  • Provide critical path impact analysis and recommend conflict resolution actions.
  • Utilize Milestones Professional for program-level reporting and analysis, ensuring minimal supervision in defining project schedules.


2. MS Project Server IMS Management:

  • Create, publish, and maintain a Microsoft Project Professional IMS on a Government Microsoft Project Server.
  • Ensure this IMS effectively depicts a critical path and maintain it parallel to the Program IMS.


3. Schedule Baseline and Critical Path Reporting:

  • Generate and upkeep a top-level schedule baseline and critical path report in formats defined by MDA, utilizing Milestones Professional.


4. Advanced Analysis and Leadership Support:

  • Conduct expert-level schedule analysis, including Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs), and develop analysis presentations for senior leadership.
  • Support and brief at senior-level meetings and undertake special projects, including "what if" scenario analysis.


NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education & Certification: BA/BS in a related field with 10 years relevant experience required. MA/MS, PMP (Project Management Professional), or PMI-SP (PMI Scheduling Professional) certifications may substitute for 3 years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of direct experience related to scheduling and planning. Advanced knowledge and experience with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project Professional, Primavera, Open Plan).
  • Scheduling Methodologies: Extensive understanding and experience in the application of all scheduling methodologies.
  • Software Tools Proficiency: Advanced-level ability to utilize various schedule software tools to create schedules, perform schedule analytics, trend analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Leadership Support & Development: Experienced in advising and supporting the development of internal scheduling policies, managing battle rhythms for analysis, and reporting. Ability to conduct Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs).
  • Collaboration & Training: Ability to collaborate with all levels across projects to extrapolate critical information for schedule development, maintenance, and analysis. Capable of teaching/training basic and intermediate level schedulers on scheduling techniques and industry best practices.
  • Analysis & Presentation Skills: Ability to develop expert-level analysis presentations based on program structure and execution and present results to senior leadership.
  • Meeting Support & Special Projects: Ability to support/brief senior-level meetings, conduct "what if" analyses, and support special projects as required.


COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Proficient with the standard Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance


ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES (Desired):

  • Strong programming skills in Microsoft Office/Project VBA.
  • Experience in Department of Defense and/or MDA Programs.
  • Detailed knowledge in the DoD system acquisition life cycle, acquisition, procurement, and contracting is highly desirable


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format.
  • May be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 15 pounds.
