Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for an Project Administrator - Estimating to join our Chipley office. This role, under the supervision of the Estimates and Specifications Coordinator(s), supports the development and maintenance of construction cost estimates and specification packages for projects in the state's DOT Work Program. The role involves learning and applying departmental systems and processes to ensure accurate project data and compliance with standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing or updating construction cost estimates using the Long-Range Estimating (LRE) System and Design Quantities & Estimates (DQE) System
  • Verify project information in LRE and DQE for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure estimates reflect the correct scope of work and include all necessary pay items and quantities
  • Provide updated construction cost estimates for annual review of the 5-Year Work Program
  • Under guidance, review specification packages for projects in the 5-Year Work Program to ensure compliance with departmental standards
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates and specifications.
  • Communicate discrepancies or missing information to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; required
  • Associate degree or coursework in construction management, engineering, or related field; preferred
  • Previous work experience in construction including documentation of progression of civil infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, and stormwater systems and record keeping related to manpower, equipment usage, construction methods, and events affecting the work; required
  • Basic understanding of quantities and ability to perform simple calculations; required
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn specialized systems (LRE, DQE)
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Work performed in client's office and required to be in office 5 days a week

Physical requirements:

Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting. Ability to use standard office equipment is required.
